| Glatfelter Public Practice releases Industrial Art Safety Evaluation Communiqué |
(December 19, 2011) Glatfelter Public Practice
has released a new
Risk Control Communiqué on Industrial Art Room Safety Evaluation Checklist.
Industrial art shops typically contain equipment and materials that could
present the potential for injury to students and teaching staff. High
powered
tools, hand tools, flammable liquids, dusts, electrical equipment and storage
of heavy items are just a few of the possible hazards found in the program.
The communiqué offers a checklist of information to consider.

(November 29, 2011) Glatfelter Public Practice has released a new Risk Control Communiqué on Snow Removal Policy for Schools. This communiqué addresses the importance for vehicle and pedestrian areas on the school property to be cleared of ice and snow to help reduce the potential for slips, falls and vehicle accidents. The communiqué offers some risk management considerations for school districts in the event of snow storms.

Communiqué on Sandbox Safetyand Gym Classes have just been released through Glatfelter Public Practice. The
Sandbox Safety communiqué addresses how sandboxes can harbor physical, chemical and biological hazards that accumulate in the sand. To help reduce the transmission of disease and to enhance the safety of sandboxes there are a number of recommendations for consideration when a school or municipality is designing, installing and maintaining a sandbox for community use. The Gym Class - Reducing Potential for Injury communiqué addresses the injuries related to physical education have beeb commonly found to be based on gender, according to recent studies. Males typically injure their heads and the upper part of their bodies while females typically injure the lower part of their bodies, resulting in strains and sprains. (July 12, 2011) The American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) recently presented the Practice Specialty Safety Professional of the Year awards to safety professionals across the country. Daniel Mahoney, CIH, CSP, vice president of Glatfelter Public Practice, Risk Control Services, was honored for providing health, safety and industrial hygiene services to public and private clients for more than 28 years. Mahoney provides a substantial number of technical articles for the Public Sector Practice Specialty Newsletter and has recruited other safety professionals to write articles as well. He was recognized for his accomplishments during ASSE's 100th Anniversary Professional Development Conference. |

| Glatfelter Public Practice Independent School Bus Program expands marketing territory |
(April 29, 2011) Glatfelter Public Practice, a division of Glatfelter Insurance Group, is pleased to announce it has expanded the marketing territory of its SafetyFIRST program for Independent School Bus Contractors to 14 states. With the recent addition of 11 states, brokers and agents are now able to access SafetyFIRST in Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Vermont and West Virginia.

| Glatfelter Public Practice offers valuable Infrared Thermography Risk Communiqué |
(February 4, 2011) Sewer, water and irrigation operations face severe equipment losses. These are often related to electrical and mechanical system deterioration. These losses can be a result of heat, lack of maintenance, loose connects, overloaded equipment, wiring mistakes, insulations failure and lack of inspection and testing. Infrared thermography is an important preventative measure in an electrical maintenance program. Glatfelter Public Practice has provided a Infrared Thermography Risk Communiqué.

With more than 20 years of sales/marketing experience, Warner will oversee the region’s sales and production responsibilities from the Glatfelter Public Practice Stockton, Calif. office. Prior to joining Glatfelter Public Practice, Warner served as a sales executive for a regional brokerage firm in North Carolina.

McIntire brings more than 15 years of sales/marketing experience and possesses intimate knowledge of the New England market. Prior to joining Glatfelter Public Practice, McIntire served as regional sales/marketing manager at a regional New England wholesaler.
