(February 15, 2013) It is with great sadness that Glatfelter Public Practice shares the news
of the passing of our distinguished leader, Art Glatfelter.
Art, who
founded Glatfelter Insurance Group in 1951 and worked tirelessly serving the
unique needs of the insurance industry through 2012, passed away on Feb. 14,
2013. Words cannot express the deep sense of loss being felt throughout the
company he built with such passion.
“In my heart, I know that Art is looking down from above with
great pride and joy to see his legacy continue,” President/CEO Tony Campisi said
in a statement to associates. “Thank you to each of you for being an important
part of that legacy and for your dedication and commitment to the continued
success of this great company that bears the name of its founder - Arthur J.
Glatfelter, a great leader and extraordinary humanitarian who made the world a
better place and touched the lives of so many.”
During his first two decades in business, Art successfully built
one of the largest all-lines, full service retail agencies in South Central
Pennsylvania. The principles upon which Art built his insurance agency, “A
Tradition of Service, Founded on Trust,” remain the foundation of Glatfelter
Insurance Group today.
